We are the Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Group, located in the Instituto de Física of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.  We are involved in experimental and theoretical work in the fields of Quantum Optics, Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Computing, Entanglement and Quantum Information.      

We hold a number of group and individual research grants from the Brazilian funding agencies listed below.  We are a member of the Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia - Informação Quântica (INCT-IQ).

We are located in the Instituto de Física, Bloco A, Centro de Tecnologia, on the campus of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Ilha do Fundão, Rio de Janeiro. Adventurous visitors can catch the 485 - Penha (Fundão) bus, in the Zona Sul, and disembark in front of the CCMN/CT.  Enter the CT through the blue entrance.

The are always opportunities for good students and post-docs in our group.
